Hello Neighbors and Friends of Southwest Atlanta,
Several neighbors of SW ATL, whom consist of environmentalists, scientists, lawyer/ educator, corporate trainer, community leaders, a documentarian and an industrial instructional writer helped to create and form the SAYEG organization. Our thought was if we could show our children how fortunate we are to live in such a green, lush and easily accessible community, that they too, will come to appreciate, protect and preserve our beloved communities. SAYEG offers youths 8 through 13 years of age an environmental educational program that will teach environ techniques for preserving and sustaining their communities and waterways through discussions with city planners, scientists and community leaders and helping to create environmental projects here in Southwest Atl.
Our partners from the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, WAWA who are scientists and serve as our consultants and trainers and they are also our neighbors and live here in Southwest Atlanta, plan SAYEG's calendar. Then we invite mentors from city government, environmentalists, community leaders and business owners to mentor about historical and social points of reference of to our communities past and present.
Then we go out and make the changes with a sustainable plan that will preserve our neighborhoods and communities for years to come.

It is important that our children know Atlanta is their city and hopefully one day they will want to work here and run it. This program will help our children to learn, embrace and protect our city and help them see how they can have a future in planning and protecting cities, forests and vulnerable communities here and around the world.
